Native American dance

My neighbor here in Green Valley has invited me a couple of times already to attend one of the Native American dances. The kiva where the event is held is near Nogales, AZ, and is one of the largest in Arizona. I arrived about an hour late and with no interruption, the dancers and drummers were still quite energetic. It was about 35 C in the shade, but every now and then a bit of a breeze relieved the heat.

The Shaman leading the dancers.

Two hours of dancing and a big thunderstorm rolled in, just a few minutes after they finished. How crazy is that! Was that a rain dance or what!

A big thunderstorm!
